Eye Shadow Sticks PERFECT FOR ASIAN Eyes

I’m so excited to be writing this post because it touches on one of the first tips I found that made me want to start the blog, and we have come such a long way since! As you know, I am a Korean woman with hooded eyes and struggled to get eyeshadow to show up. For a more in depth walkthrough on tip for this, see my post “Highlight for Korean Eye Shapes”

In short, one of the tips was to apply eyeshadow, most commonly a shimmer underneath the eye. At the time of writing the first post, there weren’t to my knowledge many products like shadow sticks available in the shades I was looking for. So to see now that Colourpop has come out with shimmery Shadow “Stix” that could be new for the blog because they have more pigment than I have demonstrated with before AND it was a WINX collaboration, the excitement was through the roof. I was such a huge fan of the show as a kid - please don’t try to tell me you didn’t also practice your transformation poses!

Now, I didn’t get ALL of the colors, just the ones I thought I would personally use, but the application and look for any color (or any eyeshadow stick) you find will be the same! They are currently available at Ulta and Colourpop (source 1) for 12 dollars. At the time of writing this post, they are on sale for $8.40 USD. Let’s get into the shades and swatches!

I have such a love/hate relationship with packaging, it’s truly wonderful, but the sticks themselves don’t have the art, so do I try to keep it, or just appreciate it and them recycle it? In any case, these girlies are drawn just as I remember them, so all in all, no complaints.
Up next, swatches!

As you can see each is a “dual chrome“ (Source 1), meaning there are two colors in each, changing as the light hits them differently.

And they are so so easy to use. To make my eye look, all I did was swipe some color on the lid, gently tap to blend with my finger, and then swipe it all the way across the bottom of the lid with no blending. You may have to swipe on the bottom lid lower down than you think, if yours are puffy like mine are. Start right under the eye and adjust lower for your lid shape.

I chose the purple for demonstration on the eyes, but let me know if you want to see more colors!

And done! It look like this:

If you need even more of a statement look and pop of color, just swipe the stick under the eye again, lower.

Considering the price, especially on sale, these are worth it, but will rub off if you touch your eyes frequently throughout the day like I do. But, they’re very portable and easy to touch up!
